WBRC FLAT SEASON TRAINERS CHAMPIONSHP
The leading trainer at the end of the season will be awarded the Wombat Challenge Cup (an historic cup loaned to the WBRC by our President, Peter Walwyn) and a prize to the staff of the stable. In the event of two or more trainers having the same number of winners the winner of the championship will be decided on the basis of most second places.
Leading positions after racing on 22 August are:
Richard Hannon – 7 wins
Henry Cecil – 6 wins
Mick Channon – 5 wins
Michael Jarvis, Mark Johnston, Alan King, Brian Meehan and Sir Michael Stoute - 4 winners each
Roger Charlton, Tom Dascombe, John Dunlop, Barry Hills and Saeed bin Suroor - 3 winners each
Andrew Balding, Michael Blanshard, Paul D’Arcy, James Fanshawe, John Gosden, William Haggas, Hughie Morrison, Jeremy Noseda and Jonathan Portman - 2 winners each
The competition ends on the final day of flat racing at Newbury Saturday 25 October when the trophy will be presented.
